How to change the pitch and tempo of a song

Pitch and tempo are separate controls in Morpha, so you can move a song into a more comfortable key without slowing it down, or stretch time without detuning it. Here is how to do both.

Step by step

  1. 1
    Open your file

Go to the studio and drop in your track. Any common format works, including MP3, WAV and FLAC.

  2. 2
    Open advanced settings

Below the presets, open the advanced settings so you can see the individual pitch and tempo controls.

  3. 3
    Set the pitch

Enter a positive number of semitones to raise the key, or a negative number to lower it. Twelve semitones is one full octave.

  4. 4
    Set the tempo

Adjust the tempo or speed factor to make the track faster or slower. Leave it at its original value if you only want a key change.

  5. 5
    Transform and compare

Run the transform, then use the player to compare the result with the original. Nudge the values and rerun until it sits right.

  6. 6
    Download

Export the result as an MP3 or WAV. The file is saved straight to your device.
